Role:

We’re seeking a Systems Administrator to join a growing IT team supporting a rapidly scaling civil, landscape, and environmental engineering firm. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and is passionate about infrastructure reliability, security, and automation. You’ll be the second Systems Administrator on the team, playing a key role in supporting and expanding the company’s IT infrastructure while delivering excellent service to a user base of ~175 employees.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Administer and support Windows systems and server environments across multiple locations. + Manage and optimize Azure virtualization infrastructure. + Configure and maintain Fortinet firewalls, including VPN setup and security policies. + Write and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate routine tasks and system maintenance. + Utilize SQL for data management tasks, ETL processes, and writing simple queries. + Collaborate with the Help Desk and System Admin teams to support and troubleshoot user issues. + Contribute to scaling infrastructure and processes as the organization continues its rapid growth. + Maintain system documentation and ensure compliance with IT security and operational standards.

Requirements Qualifications:

Required Skills:

+ Strong background in Windows Systems Administration + Experience with Azure virtualization and cloud management + Hands-on experience with Fortinet firewalls and VPN configuration + PowerShell scripting experience (automation, system management) + Proficiency in SQL for basic data tasks and ETL workflows

Preferred Background:

+ Experience working in an MSP (Managed Service Provider) environment + Familiarity with Deltek Vantagepoint is a plus + Exposure to AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry tools is beneficial

+ You’ll join a lean IT team: 1 Help Desk Technician and 1 existing Systems Administrator, reporting to a seasoned IT Manager. + The company has scaled from 50 to 130+ employees in the last year, with continued growth expected. + ~175 end users across multiple offices. + The company values collaboration and adaptability; the team is multi-generational, with many employees either under 25 or over 40.
