SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

The selected candidate will be a highly energetic, self-motivated, enthusiastic individual, who enjoys working with a team to design, implement, and maintain the District’s enterprise computer systems. This candidate strives to take on new initiatives, eager to learn new technology, and can manage multiple projects and priorities. Candidate can adjust to rapid changes as demands arise, and able to adhere to IT Security measures to protect our systems confidentiality, integrity, and availability. This candidate possesses excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), strong interpersonal skills that thrives in a creative and energetic environment and be able to multi-task and meet assigned deadlines.

Education/Experience Guidelines:

Candidate typically has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/ Systems Technology, or Management Information Systems. Highly preferred experience in some or all of these areas:

  • Azure or Other Cloud IaaS, SaaS Administration
  • Microsoft 365
  • Office 365 Products
  • Power Platform, SharePoint, Exchange
  • Windows Server Administration
  • Citrix XenApp/Desktop
  • Installation and Operation
  • Cloud Technologies
  • Azure
  • VMware/Virtualization Platforms
  • Hyperconverged Infrastructure
  • IP Networking
  • PowerShell/Scripting
  • Ansible or any other automation technologies
  • Infrastructure as Code approach for systems deployments and maintenance Preferred experience in some or all of these platforms & technologies:

  • AWS or Other Cloud IaaS, SaaS Administration
  • Solarwinds or Other Monitoring Solutions
  • Redhat Linux Administration
  • UNIX shell scripting, Perl, Python License(s) / Certification(s): Valid State of Florida Driver’s License required.
Physical Requirements/ Working Environment:

Due to the District’s response role and in the total scope of emergency management, this position may at times, be required to provide support before, during and after major storm events and emergency situations, such as hurricanes or other declared emergencies, depending on assigned emergency response role. This position requires the ability to lift up to 50lbs. This position also requires the ability to sit for long periods of time.
