Linux Engineer Senior Systems Engineer
What does a successful Senior Systems Engineer do at Fiserv?
You will build and deploy applications and troubleshoot in a Linux & Windows environment. You will be leading projects and infrastructure build activities. You will be involved in full stack implementation – end to end build work. Note this is not an application development or systems administrator role.
What you will do:
You will be working closely with software development teams to configure and deploy applications.
Provide technical consulting to internal client implementation groups and software teams on various technical integration points (load balancing, web interface, API, batch processing, file transmission)
Obtain and maintain an in-depth understanding of proprietary technology and its underlying architecture.
Communicate complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences and drive problems to resolution.
Determine long-term resolution to repeatable problems, including automation, monitoring & alerting, and process improvement.
Assist in technical platform analysis that will identify requirements related to people, processes, and technology.
Analyze business requirements and transform them into technical actions, while tracking implementation milestones all the way to production
What you will need to have: 5+ years professional experience with systems engineering in both – Windows and Linux operating systems
5+ years of experience with building and configuring servers
5+ years of experience with troubleshooting of various databases such as DB2, Oracle, Mongo, MySQL
Able to work flex shifts (primary US business hours, some after-hours required for deployments or maintenance)
Bachelor s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience
What would be great to have:
Cloud technologies Azure, AWS
Conceptual knowledge of networking, load balancing, and firewalls
Scripting (Ansible, bash, PowerShell, Python)
Apache/Tomcat/WebSphere
Splunk, Dynatrace
