Our client who is a respected government agency is seeking anexperienced Linux SysOps Technical Lead to join their ITinfrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible foroverseeing the day-to-day operations of the Linux infrastructure.
This includes managing a team of system administrators, monitoringperformance of systems, ensuring security compliance, andaddressing day-to-day issues. The ideal candidate will possessextensive technical knowledge and have excellent communication,leadership, and time management skills. Linux SysOps Technical Lead Role and Responsibilities Technicalreview and assessment of the work of other team members. Advise IT Management on technical issues and preferredsolution. Collaborating with other teams. Ensuring that industry best practices are adhered to. Advise on new technology that could improve and enhance ItInfrastructure. Assess and offer guidance on implementing emerging technologies forenhancing IT infrastructure management. Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linuxservers. Ensure that security best practices are adhered to for allsystems. Review IT Systems, ensuring that security and OS vulnerabilitiesare applied. Review of IT Systems eliminating single points of failure, thusincreasing system availability. Recognize routine task that can be automated. Linux SysOps Technical Lead Required Skills and QualificationsBachelor degree in computer science, Information Technology, orrelated field or equivalent work experience. 10+ years of experience in Linux system administration. 5+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role. Deep expertise in Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat 7,8,9,Rocky Linux, Ubuntu). Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible,Ansible Tower, Ansible AAP, Puppet, Github). Extensive experience in scripting languages (e.g., Bash,Python). Working experience with virtualization and containerizationtechnologies (e.g., VMware, Docker, Kubernetes). Deep understanding of network protocols, services, andsecurity. Must possess stellar troubleshooting skills, being able to identifyroot cause of issues. Experience in managing and maintaining SAN storageinfrastructure. Experience in configuring and tuning system and applicationmonitoring. Experience in deploying, configuring, troubleshooting softwareapplications. Experience with RedHat Satellite and Oracle Linux Manager. Knowledge of databases such as SQL, MS SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, Hadoop,Elasticsearch, Redis, Cassandra, Oracle, PostgreSQL and/orMongo. Must be a motivated self-starter that stays current on industrytrends and technologies. Strong communication skills and ability to explain issues,protocol, processes, and solutions.
