Job Description

Systems Administrator

RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce has a client looking for a Senior Systems Administrator. This role is fully remote but candidates must commit to working 9am-6pm EST to best support this work. The ideal candidate will have exceptional application analysis and design skills, as well as thorough trouble-shooting capabilities. This is a highly visible, contract-to-hire role supporting a fully funded capital project. The work involves Microsoft 365 cross-tenant operational support – no policy design or engineering work, strictly service delivery and issue resolution.

Responsibilities:
  • Heavy UNIX shell script programming using both ‘C’ and Korn shell
  • Creating UNIX-based facilities that are fault tolerant, step restartable, and reusable
  • Setting-up Connect Direct, XCOM and FTP file transfer processes between different platforms.
  • Understanding the requirements and procedures for establishing both dedicated and Internet-based frame relay connections via TCP/IP
  • Coordinating the efforts of inter-disciplinary groups
  • Using AutoSys for complex scheduling
  • Handling Microsoft 365 operational support across the client enterprise
  • Troubleshooting cross-tenant collaboration issues, including access and credentialing
  • Supporting executive teams with issue resolution and platform reliability
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
  • Modern learning credentials and micro-certifications are encouraged; Examples include Microsoft Learn badges and certifications for Power BI, Power Apps, Copilot, and automation tools; Specialized Microsoft event or product certifications; Online credentials from platforms like Coursera, edX, LinkedIn Learning, or similar that demonstrate practical skills in cloud collaboration, identity, and operational support
    • 4+ years of experience in relevant Microsoft 365 support roles
    • Experience with Microsoft 365 tenant and identity troubleshooting
    • Experience in multi-tenant support environments
    • Clear communication skills with executive stakeholders
    • Microsoft Admin Center experience
    • Exchange Online experience
    • Azure Active Directory experience
    • Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive experience
    • ServiceNow or similar ITSM platform experience
    • Microsoft Copilot experience
    • Power Automate/Microsoft Graph experience
    • Power BI experience
Expected Shift:

Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern Time (to support both East Coast and some late-day Pacific overlap)
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
