Undergradue and Gradue Educion:
Major study — hospital administrion, public health administrion, or reled fields such as business or public administrion with course work in health care administrion. OR Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Progressively responsible analytical or administrive, or clinical management or supervisory experience in the health care field. This work may have been performed in an opering health care facility or a higher organizional echelon with advisory or directional authority over such facilities. Work must have involved a close working relionship with facility managers and analysis and/or coordinion of administrive, clinical, or other service activities, and provided knowledge of the following: Missions, organizions, programs, and requirements of health care delivery systems; Regulions and standards of various regulory and credentialing groups; and Government-wide, agency, and facility systems and requirements in various administrive areas such as budget, personnel, and procurement.
Specialized Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to least the next lower grade S-12 in the normal line of progression for the occupion in the organizion. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Manages full range of administrive services (Finance, Human Resource Management, Acquisition, Contracting, Facility Management, Environment of Care, Health Administrion, etc) in an acute care environment with full range clinical services (ICU, Behavioral Health, Dementia, Hospice, Surgery, etc.), administrive services (Finance, Human Resource Management, Acquisition, Contracting, Facility Management, Environment of Care, Health Administrion, etc) in support of meeting goals of organizion. Negoties complex issues (e.g. multi-party negotiions with concerns th affect a broad scope and range of interests) with individuals/ groups with diverse backgrounds and various levels of educion and competence both internal and external to the organizion (e.g.; employees, labor organizions, VSO, Community groups, congressional offices, VISN/VACO staff, etc.).
