(IES) is seeking an experienced system administrator at our corporate office in Shreveport, Louisiana. This position is responsible for a wide range of activities related to computing systems support, such as the installation, maintenance, and support of hardware, operating systems, and application and support software. Qualified candidates should have both broad and detailed information technology knowledge, demonstrate excellent judgment in operational decisions, be able to work on major projects with minimal oversight, and provide technical leadership and training to other staff. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree or five (5) years of experience with IT System administration

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field. Experience with IT system administration in both enterprise environment and higher education environments. Professional IT certification(s).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Highest possible professional and personal integrity required for administrative access to an organization’s most confidential systems and information Knowledge of best-practice enterprise computing standards and procedures Knowledge of TCP/IP networking principles and configuration Knowledge of computing system operating system principles, installation, and configuration Knowledge of computing system application software installation and configuration Ability to analyze problems and develop a systematic approach to resolve them Ability to follow complex procedures in a methodical manner Ability to analyze and deploy new technology from available technical documentation Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and manage time to meet deadlines Written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills required to provide effective technical user support Communication and interpersonal skills required to provide technical leadership and training to other staff Ability to produce clear and concise technical documentation Ability to prioritize tasks and work calmly and effectively in occasional high-stress situations Ability to perform critical tasks carefully without error

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure (Cisco Meraki devices, ASA’s, switches, WAP’s) Install, configure, and maintain IT system hardware (servers, storage, appliances, etc.) Install, configure, and maintain IT system operating systems (Windows, Unix, etc.) Install, configure, and maintain VMware virtual environment (vCenter, ESXI, Horizon View VDI.) Maintain, monitor, and update on premise Exchange Server Install, configure, and maintain application software. (MS Office, Terminal Emulators) Install, configure, and maintain various printing devices. Provide end user support for Prelude ERP system with assistance from vendor Maintain, monitor and upgrade disaster recovery systems (Veeam, Synology) Configure, deploy and provide end user support for mobile devices Maintain and troubleshoot on premise telephony systems, with assistance from telephony providers Configure, integrate, and maintain a relationship with internet service providers Monitor vendor and industry security alerts and update notifications and perform software and firmware updates to protect the security and stability of IT systems Provide internal user support for a variety of software applications and services Respond to, evaluate, and correct IT system failures during and outside regular work hours Develop processes for automation of repeated administrative tasks Conduct research on hardware and software components of IT systems in support of procurement and development efforts Maintain accurate records necessary for IT systems operations (equipment inventory, licenses, support contracts, etc.)
