years Full Job Description Position SummaryThe Assistant Network and Systems Administrator works under the direction of the Director of IT, working with the Systems and Network Administrator to support and enhance the performance, security, and reliability of the districts network infrastructure. This position also assists with the management, maintenance, and administration of the various technology platforms and applications used by the school district. Day to day support of the districts technology needs and helpdesk requests are a major component of the day to day aspects of this position. The role is critical in ensuring the technology infrastructure and processes support the evolving needs of educational technologies and digital learning environments.

Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the Systems and Network Administrator and other members of the technology department in the daily network operations, including system backups, databases, and software applications.

Collaborate with the Systems and Network Administrator to resolve LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, router, email, and other tier 2 & 3 technical issues.

Respond to trouble tickets related to instructional and administrative systems as assigned by the Lead Support Tech, delivering ongoing technical support and training to staff.

Manage and maintain servers, network switches, WAPs, firewalls, and related software to improve performance and reliability..Install and configure server Operating System software and related applications on LAN/WAN servers. Microsoft Windows Server 2022 and Ubunto Linux.

Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of new technologies as directed.

Assist in planning, documenting, and executing technical projects and system migration plans.

Participate in professional development to stay current with industry trends.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of IT.
