Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Network Administrator is responsible for the configuration, administration, and management of the district’s wired and wireless networks. The Network Administrator will work with the district technology team to integrate systems and deliver network services to students and staff.
Primary duties include:
- Configures, administers, and maintains the district’s network, including all network hardware, software, wireless systems, and Internet connections for the district’s buildings
- Basic server administration tasks, including updates, servicing, monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Act as a next escalation contact for technicians
- Assesses network security and performance on an ongoing basis and adapts as needed
- Ensures the security of the district’s network and systems
- Investigate, troubleshoot, resolve, and document problems and their resolutions
- Maintains confidentiality in regards to data stored, processed, or accessed on the network
- Communicates with vendors as needed
- Provide Director of Technology with timely updates on issues regarding network availability
- Assist Director of Technology with preparing capital and operational budgets regarding networked systems
- Provide end-user support and basic training to technology staff
- Maintain an inventory of networking equipment, document network topology, and change log for networked systems
- All other duties as assigned

- Must be a user-friendly team player with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and initiative
- Must adapt easily to work assignments, additional priorities, and new procedures
- Ability to handle multiple assignments; prioritize and identify needs and solve problems independently
- Ability to move technology equipment (up to 50lbs.)
- Ability to remain current with both professional skill set and district technology policies
- Actively participates in professional development opportunities provided by the district
