GENERAL PURPOSE
The Network Administrator – (IP) Provisioning position encompassesa high level of technical ability including IP subnetting, theability to provision TelePacific core and distribution routers, andtroubleshooting 2nd and 3rd level connectivity issues for our datacustomers. Furthermore the Network Administrator will keep theInternet Operations Center updated on all configuration changes,troubleshooting techniques, and Internet connectivity issues andupgrades in general.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicate with the engineering department before, during, andafter installations that require advanced configurations and/or theimplementation of VPN or firewall capability to support thecustomer?s requirements.
- Assign and program IP configuration for customer installationorders
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco, Juniper and other switches androuters
- Provide support to customers and vendors during newinstallations
- Work with various customer and support groups in diagnosingservice related problems
- Troubleshoot WAN connections
- Troubleshoot router configuration
- Recognition of potential network bottlenecks and other troubleareas
- Maintain service delivery timeframes and processes in amulti-system environment.
- Process basic order entry data and distribute tasks within theService Delivery department through ticketing and task tool
- Efficiently handle a high volume of orders
- Communicate order progress with Coordinators, Field Operations andManagement
- Identify order concerns, issues and escalate appropriately
- Maintain data reports related to translations task and orderstatus
- Review and suggest changes to Circuit Design against facilitiesdatabase to ensure Customer stability during install
- Adhere to Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI)regulations to protect all Customers? privacy rights
- Know and adhere to all TelePacific product and processguides
- Execute suspensions and restorations within two (2) hours ofassignment during normal business hours
PERIPHERAL DUTIES
- Provide a professional and positive experience to both internaland external TelePacific Customers.
- Assist with creation of ad hoc reports as needed.
- Support Service Delivery Department in achieving Corporate revenuegoals.
- Report contractual challenges for general contractcompliance.
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
(A) Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification orequivalent experience, and (B) Graduation from an accredited four year college or university,and (C) Two (2) year of ISP level telecommunications experience,or (D) Any equivalent combination of certification, education andexperience
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of MPLS is desirable
- Detailed understanding of the function and configuration ofCisco/Juniper networking equipment
- Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco/Juniperswitches and routers
- Advanced operational knowledge of virtual local area networks(VLAN), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and Enhanced Interior GatewayRouting Protocol (EIGRP)
- Advanced understanding of IP addressing, includingsubnetting
- Functional understanding of Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic HostConfiguration Protocol and related network services
- Understanding of TCP/IP configuration within various operatingsystems.
- Exceptional time management and organization skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with billing software, Microsoft Word,Excel, personal computers, calculator, telephone, copier and faxmachines
- Candidate must be comfortable in a fast paced environment, executetasks with minimal supervision and accept change with a positiveoutlook
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
