About the Position Third-level professional position accountable for the development, enhancement and maintenance of multi-platform hardware and software operating systems of moderate complexity and risk or impact for assigned organizational areas. May be accountable for multiple multi-platform hardware and software operating systems and system administration teams. Manages vendor relations for less complex applications. What you’ll need to be Successful In addition to the above, the agency is looking for a candidate who possesses a wide range of skills in the following areas (at minimum):
- VMware virtual datacenter installation, support, and administration
- Windows Server
- Office 365 administration and configuration
- Familiarity with network configuration and topology
- A desire and willingness to keep abreast of emerging technologies and make suggestions on how they might benefit the agency.
- Network Administration
- Backup and Restoration software configuration and monitoring
- Internet Information Services Active Directory Familiarity with Linux and web server configuration (IIS and Apache) is a plus.
LAN/WAN Administration and Troubleshooting, Router and Switch Configuration, VPN and Remote Access Solutions, Wireless Network Management. Preferred Qualifications Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 7-10+ years of IT experience with emphasis in multi-platform hardware and software systems and systems administration. •
MSPB Preferred Qualifications:
A successful candidate for this position would need a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field and seven (7) to ten (10) successful years of experience in the technical areas listed in Installation, configuration, and maintenance of an agency’s physical and virtual data center.
