Job Overview:

Seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with strong Python development experience and a background in distributed computing, microservices, and modern data workflows. You will analyze and resolve technical challenges involving data pipelines, AI/ML integration, and microservices architecture, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and adhering to policy, procedure, and compliance requirements.

Candidates need to have:

Strong expertise in managing and administering the Ab Initio platform – including installation, configuration, upgrade, and ongoing support, with a focus on stability and performance (not development of graphs or ETL). Solid experience in automation using Python or Ansible – specifically for infrastructure or platform management tasks such as deployments, monitoring, and maintenance scripting. Hands-on experience working with Red Hat Linux environments – with comfort in performing administrative tasks and troubleshooting issues on enterprise-grade Linux systems. Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) – understanding how Ab Initio or similar platforms operate in cloud environments and ability to manage or migrate services in a GCP context. Experience as an Ab Initio Administrator. Proven experience in installing, configuring, and administering Ab Initio Co>Operating System and EME. Understanding of Ab Initio architecture, components, and best practices. Experience with performance tuning and optimization of Ab Initio graphs and infrastructure. Proficiency in shell scripting (e.g., Unix, Linux). Experience with database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata). Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience with job scheduling tools. Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus. Ab Initio certifications are a plus.

Job Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and upgrade Ab Initio software components, including Co-Operating System, and related products. Administer and maintain the Ab Initio, including user management, security setup, and metadata management. Monitor the health and performance of the Ab Initio environment, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues. Perform performance tuning and optimization of Ab Initio graphs and infrastructure. Implement and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies for the Ab Initio environment. Manage and troubleshoot Ab Initio batch schedules and dependencies. Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth deployment and execution of Ab Initio applications. Provide technical support and guidance to Ab Initio developers and users. Implement and enforce security policies and best practices for the Ab Initio environment. Document all administration tasks, configurations, and procedures. Stay up to date with the latest Ab Initio releases, features, and best practices. Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure upgrades related to Ab Initio. Troubleshoot connectivity issues between Ab Initio and various data sources and targets. Manage and maintain Ab Initio version control and deployment processes.
