Job Description
Dental Excellence of Allentown PC is looking for a System Administrator with Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field + 12 months of progressive experience in a related field.
Duties:
System Administration & IT Infrastructure Management:
Oversee the full IT infrastructure lifecycle, including setup, configuration, and maintenance of Practice Management Software (PMS) and ensuring seamless integration across various clinical and administrative systems. Implement, monitor, and enhance security protocols, creating user accounts and defining security access levels tailored to specific job roles. Maintain high standards of data integrity and cybersecurity through ongoing monitoring and regular audits. Practice Management Software (PMS)
Support:
Serve as the primary administrator for PMS, managing user permissions, updates, and ensuring optimal performance. Develop and implement training programs for clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure effective use of PMS. Create detailed user guides and troubleshooting documentation for enhanced staff support and continuity of operations.
Data Backup and Disaster Recovery:
Design and maintain robust backup and disaster recovery solutions, ensuring that critical data, including patient records and operational files, are secure and recoverable. Regularly conduct tests on backup solutions and restore capabilities to maintain compliance with healthcare data standards and regulations.
Medical Device & Software Calibration:
Calibrate and troubleshoot medical and dental equipment, such as X-ray units, intraoral cameras, CT scanners, and Itero scanners, to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Regularly update firmware, software, and drivers to optimize device performance and enhance safety protocols for both clinical staff and patients.
Database and Windows Server Management:
Manage databases and Windows Server 2019, including regular updates, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and reliability. Implement optimized server configurations and network protocols to enhance data access speeds and support efficient healthcare delivery.
Network Management & Security Protocols:
Design and implement secure network architecture to support reliable connectivity and communication across various departments. Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and updates to safeguard against potential security threats, ensuring compliance with healthcare information security standards (e.g., HIPAA).
Website and Digital Communications Management:
Manage and regularly update the company website, ensuring compliance with brand standards and enhancing patient engagement. Coordinate with stakeholders to integrate new features, manage digital content, and ensure the website is optimized for usability and accessibility.
Workstation and Peripheral Device Maintenance:
Manage, upgrade, and troubleshoot workstations and all computer peripherals, including printers, scanners, and imaging equipment. Oversee installation and updates for necessary software and drivers, coordinating with vendors for specialized equipment maintenance and ensuring all systems meet performance standards.
Dental Equipment Technical Support:
Provide hands-on troubleshooting and preventive maintenance for various electrical dental equipment, including dental chairs, curing lights, and related instruments. Maintain an updated inventory of equipment, parts, and technical specifications, and coordinate with manufacturers or service providers for complex repairs or upgrades.
