Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Rapport System Administrator & DevOps Engineer to support and maintain both front-end user interfaces and back-end components of the Rapport system. This role is responsible for environment management, system monitoring, automated deployments, and documentation to ensure the performance, reliability, and scalability of the platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support versioning, change control, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain front-end and back-end components of the Rapport system across all environments (DEV, TEST, CERT, PROD, DR). Oversee configuration management, application settings, environment variables, and web services. Maintain and support SQL Server databases and IIS configurations critical to the system’s operation. Monitor system availability and performance, troubleshoot user access issues, and ensure data integrity. Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment of configuration and code (including documentation automation). Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to manage version control, release cycles, and change processes. Develop automated system documentation using XSLT to transform XML content into user-facing documents. Utilize scripting (e.g., PowerShell, batch) for system maintenance, data management, and automated health checks. Coordinate Disaster Recovery (DR) planning, including backups, restoration testing, and failover validation. Apply system and security patches; ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements. Create and maintain detailed documentation of architecture, configurations, changes, and operational procedures. Perform log analysis and system auditing to support troubleshooting, incident response, and compliance reporting. Understand and support key networking components such as Firewalls, DNS, and Load Balancers. Apply DevOps principles including Git-based version control, automated builds, and testing strategies. Engage with developers, DBAs, and business stakeholders to ensure system alignment with business goals.
Education and Experience Required:
Minimum of an Bachelors degree and 2 years’ systems analysis/application development experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 6 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 4 years’ systems analysis/application development experience Proven experience with: SQL Server (administration and performance tuning) IIS (Internet Information Services configuration and maintenance) VB.NET JSON/REST/SOAP-based web services Strong knowledge of system administration practices, scripting for automation, and system monitoring. Experience managing complex environments and handling CI/CD pipelines in a production setting.
