POSITION OVERVIEW

The Help Desk IT Specialist will be responsible for the implementation and smooth daily IT operations in our RI office. This includes help desk response, hardware installation, and local systems updates.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

The primary Responsibilities and Duties of this position are: Primary Helpdesk Support Agent Handle software and hardware related issues in a timely and professional manner Maintain workstations, laptops, office machine equipment (copiers, printers, fax, plotters etc.) Assist with daily user issues (program support, trouble shooting, general tech issues etc.) Conduct new user training with new hires Assist with phone system configurations and tracking phone extensions Assist and coordinate notifications for general system maintenance, like Windows or other software updates or hardware changes Assist in setup and use of teleconferencing equipment Maintain SPAM/Virus protection software to ensure utmost security Assist IT Team with the development, implementation, maintenance, and enforcement of company IT policy Assist in defining and designing IT Department tactical and strategic objectives to assist in meeting company’s objectives and mission statement. Proactively suggest changes that will benefit and strengthen company networks and infrastructure Conduct oneself in a professional manner that fosters positive relationships with internal and external customers Due to the nature of the work, some evenings and weekends may be required Other duties as assigned

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Working knowledge of IT infrastructure and the ability to manage technical components of a project and express complex technical concepts effectively Strong technical documentation skills Superior technical troubleshooting ability Understanding of hardware and software system administration Excellent customer service attitude and skills Ability to make decisions regarding configuration and set up of application or hardware Excellent communication skills both written and oral Strong interpersonal skills Ability to multi-task at a high level Detail oriented Strong sense of ownership Strong documentation and analytical skills Advanced level knowledge and experience with MS Office Suite, Windows OS, Windows Server, VMWARE, and Windows Domains, Azure Active Directory, Power BI Ability to take initiative Ability to work independently Understanding of integrated systems Education & Experience Associates degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science 1-3 years’ experience Helpdesk best practices 1-3 years’ experience with Windows Server environments
