Position:
Under the supervision of the Enterprise Infrastructure Manager, the IT Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of enterprise level server and networking systems and related applications. They will install server and networking hardware, software, and participate in research and development to continuously improve and keep up with the IT business needs of the organization. The IT Infrastructure Administrator also actively resolves problems and issues with networking and server systems to limit work disruptions within the company. The IT Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for independently researching and implementing new technologies, developing and following project plans while keeping the team and the department manager up to date on the latest project progress.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain systems and networking support for software, hardware, servers and networking: test, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve all related problems
Utilize best-in-class security protocols to protect existing and new server and networking systems
Perform systems administration functions for Windows AD infrastructure, Office 365, software updates and patches, anti-virus, local company systems, various communication systems, cloud hosted company systems and backups
Perform network administration functions for Cisco based switches, routers, wireless access points, firewall appliances, etc.
Prepare and maintain written documentation of server, networking and application environments for disaster recovery
Collaborate with Sr. Systems Administrators, Sr. Network Administrators, Helpdesk personnel, and company users regarding current and prospective system changes and future needs
Responsible for the maintenance and reliable operation of virtual servers, and virtualization environments
Install and upgrade server and networking components / software and integrate automation processes to improve workflows and save time
Troubleshoot server, networking hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues
Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
Assist with the assessment of current and future capacity, storage, and database performance of various server and networking systems
Providing timely communication and resolution of project updates and issues escalated from the helpdesk department
Improve business unit synergies through technology systems integration
Look for ways to enhance and support compatibility between existing server and networking systems
Regular auditing of all local and cloud hosted system access privileges
Work to automate repetitive systems and networking administration functions that staff are currently spending time as regular maintenance items
Assist with outlining and implementing authentication measures to increase security but also create SSO environments to ease user authentication challenges
Regular attendance is required

Communicate effectively with other departments within the organization and function within a team environment
Minimum Requirements:
Strong working knowledge with minimum of 3 to 5 years of hand-on experience with the following:
Cisco-based Routing / Switching, Wireless Networks, IP, Advanced Protocols, LAN and WAN maintenance and administration
Microsoft Server OS versions 2016 to most recent, Microsoft Active Directory, O365 / MS Exchange, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, RAID hardware configurations
Desktop / laptop operating systems such as Windows 10 and 11 for testing how server and network changes may impact staff computer systems
Monitoring and tuning server and network level systems to achieve optimum performance levels
VMware 8 or other virtualization systems experience – implementation, configuring, managing virtual servers
Enterprise level anti-virus, endpoint security and / or next generation security software Implementation, management and support of enterprise level on-premises IP telephony systems
Server and network major and minor hardware installations and upgrades
Implementing and effectively developing IT operations best practices, including top-tier knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols

Problem-solving and troubleshooting of issues or challenges that may arise with assigned projects or tasks
Interpersonal, good communications with the ability to work effectively alongside a wide range of staff in a diverse company community
Excellent and appropriate verbal, phone and written etiquette
Ability to follow instructions, work under the direction of a supervisor, and multi-task various projects and day-to-day issue resolution
Be reliable and possess good organizational skills
Ability to lift, move and inspect general IT equipment, servers, switches, routers, printers, and related equipment associated with job duties up to 25 pounds
Capable of sitting for prolonged periods of time at a computer screen
Work in standard office conditions but may be required to travel to other areas of the building, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) areas to resolve issues or project tasks
Communicate effectively with the IT team, supervisors and other departments within the organization and function within a team, promoting a positive work environment
Expertise in cost analysis and control pertaining to systems in use at the company or being looked at as viable options
Proven conception to completion experience deploying new systems in a production environment
Perform other assigned duties and follow verbal and written instructions issued by supervisor or senior level systems administrators / designee related to addressing ongoing projects, immediate issues or outages and overall meeting company goals and objectives
Education:
Associate degree in Computer Science (BS preferred) and/or equivalent technical certification with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven System and Network Administrator experience
Industry-recognized technical server-based certification such as Microsoft MCSE, Azure Administrator Associate, VMware Certified Professional, Network+, Server+ or A+ preferred but not required for position
Industry-recognized technical networking-based certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, CCNP preferred but not required for position
