The Systems Administrator serves as the technical lead for Active Directory (AD) and Group Policy administration within the Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support. This position also functions as the subject matter expert for Mobile Device Management (MDM) across multiple platforms, including Apple, Microsoft, and cellular solutions.
The role supports and maintains physical and virtual server infrastructure, ensuring operational integrity and performance through regular maintenance, upgrades, and monitoring. The administrator also oversees management services, including server-based and GPO-deployed er configurations. Serves as a backup for desktop support coverage; assisting end users with hardware, software, and peripheral troubleshooting and resolution. Addresses support tickets promptly and escalates issues when necessary.
In addition to technical responsibilities, this role acts as a key liaison between the division, the central Division of Information Technology, vendors, and departmental IT contacts. The position maintains detailed documentation of systems architecture, MDM deployments, er mappings, and inventory of hardware assets, supporting both operational continuity and strategic planning.

Primary Duties:

Leads mobile device management (MDM) operations and serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for application packaging and provisioning across supported platforms.
Serves as the primary administrator for Active Directory (AD) and Group Policy Objects (GPO) within the Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support.
Oversees divisional er infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and management of ers via server-based solutions, Group Policy er mapping, and other Software as a Service (SaaS) platforms.
Administers and maintains physical and virtual server environments, cloud services, and software as a service (SaaS) platforms that support divisional operations.

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience Requires job related accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalentbination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Management Science, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field and two years of experience inputer technical support.
Experience configuring and supporting physical and virtual servers.
Proficiency in scripting such as VBScript, Bash, or PowerShell.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Extensive expertise in enterprise hardware and software systems configuration, including integration with both on-premises and cloud-connected server environments.
Proficient in Active Directory and Group Policy administration, including design, deployment, and troubleshooting of policy-based configurations.
In-depth knowledge of Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms including Apple MDMs and Microsoft MDMs; with experience in application provisioning, security enforcement, and device lifecycle management across macOS, Windows, and mobile ecosystems.
Advanced skills in diagnosing and resolvingplex technical issues, using structured analysis and data interpretation to drive efficient resolutions.
Strong knowledge of server operating systems, Windows Server 2022 and 2025 or later, and desktop environments including Windows 10/11 and macOS 12-15 or later.
Familiarity with network protocols and infrastructure, including DNS, DHCP, VPN, and wireless technologies.
Knowledge of er management systems, including server-based deployment and GPO er mapping.
Excellentmunication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
