Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Payroll and Systems Specialist (or Analyst) to oversee and optimize payroll operations and HR systems. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing while driving system improvements, integrations, and data integrity across platforms like HRIS, payroll, time tracking, and benefits.
Roles & Responsibilities
Payroll Administration:
Support US and International payroll, ensuring accuracy, timely processing of payroll in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Maintain employee payroll records, deductions, bonuses, garnishments, and other adjustments.
Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate reports post-processing.
Coordinate with Finance for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end activities, including tax filings and audits.
Systems and Data Management:
Maintain and support HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., UKG and Deel).
Manage integrations between payroll, HRIS, timekeeping, and benefits systems.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues; liaise with vendors as needed.
Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all platforms.
Analytics and Reporting:
Create and maintain payroll and HRIS reports for internal stakeholders.
Provide insights and analysis related to headcount, compensation, and compliance.
Develop dashboards and ad hoc reports to support HR and Finance initiatives.
Compliance & Controls:
Ensure compliance with employment laws, tax regulations, and internal policies.
Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation.
Maintain confidentiality and security of payroll and personnel data.
Skills & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Accounting, Business, Information Systems, or related field.
2-5 years of experience in payroll and/or HR systems administration.
Strong understanding of payroll laws, taxation, and compliance requirements.
Experience with payroll and HRIS platforms (UKG and Deel strongly preferred).
Advanced experience in Excel and data reporting tools.
High attention to detail and ability to work with confidential information.
Strong problem-solving skills and systems-thinking mindset.
