Orange Beach City Schools Job Title:

School Technician Reports to:

Principal or Designee Job Goal:

To assist in the smooth and efficient operation of the department(s) assigned to support student learning

Qualifications:

Holds a high school diploma or equivalent Post-secondary training at a technical or business college is preferred Proficiency in oral and written communication skills Demonstrates aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board might find appropriate and acceptable

Performance Responsibilities:

Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, goals and priorities Ability to use technology to communicate, manage data, and produce/submit required reports, correspondence, and/or school information Works within the school community to promote excellent customer service, effective response times and provide support for technology Assists in implementing plans for upgrading/replacing school computer hardware and software Provides users with efficient, effective, and timely technical support Orders and receives necessary hardware and manages accurate inventories Replaces and/or repairs parts of computer hardware, including performing diagnostic tests and troubleshooting to determine if problems are hardware or software problems Performs hardware and system maintenance Serves as a technical liaison for the school with the technology director Performs duties in a courteous and professional manner Maintains appropriate confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters Models and maintains high ethical standards Demonstrates initiative in identifying potential problems and/or opportunities for improvement in areas of responsibility Reports potential problems, unusual events, or work irregularities to appropriate administrative or supervisory personnel Participates successfully in training programs, professional development, or other learning to increase skill and proficiency related to job performance and leadership Responds to inquiries, requests, constructive feedback, concerns and/or complaints in a timely and positive manner Maintains and submits reports, records, and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner Demonstrates physical strength, mobility, dexterity, stamina, and acuity to perform job responsibilities and essential functions Properly uses and cares for equipment and material resources of the school system Supports and complies with school system rules, administrative procedures, local Board policies, and state, federal, and local regulations Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned by supervisor(s)

Terms of Employment:

12 month (240 Days) / 8-Hours / Non-Exempt / To be determined, commensurate with local salary matrix and experience.
