I. T. Technical Support 2.0 2.0 out of 5 stars Hayden, AL 35079 Summertown Metals is looking for an I.T. technical support person to assist our Hayden location. This is a full-time position. Office hours are Monday through Friday 7 am – 5 pm. About the Role We’re looking for a reliable, hands-on Tier 1 IT Technician to join our team. This is a boots-on-the-ground support role that involves everything from setting up PCs to running cables and climbing under desks. If you’re detail-oriented, love solving problems, and enjoy staying active while you work, we’d love to talk. Key Responsibilities Set up and configure desktop computers, laptops, printers, and peripherals Run and manage low-voltage network cabling as needed Provide front-line troubleshooting for basic IT issues (hardware, software, network connectivity, etc.) Maintain and respond to IT support tickets in a timely and professional manner Assist with imaging and deploying devices Perform routine maintenance and updates Work closely with other members of the IT team on various infrastructure projects Climb under desks, in ceilings, or other tight spaces when needed Qualifications Basic understanding of networking, hardware components, and Windows environments Familiarity with IT support ticket systems (e.g., Autodesk, Freshdesk, Zendesk, Spiceworks, etc.) Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and navigate physical workspaces (e.g., crawlspaces, under desks) Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-first attitude Excellent communication skills and ability to document work clearly A+ certification or equivalent experience is a plus Preferred Experience Previous help desk or IT support experience Knowledge of Office 365, Active Directory, or basic network troubleshooting Experience in a multi-site or fast-paced environment Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly wage or salary based on experience Opportunities for advancement and certification reimbursement Health benefits, PTO, 401(k), etc. (please put our official benefits here)
