JOB GOAL
To perform technical tasks and provide support for the technology infrastructure to support the needs of the Opelika City School System.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must comply with all employment criteria established by the Opelika City School Board of Education 2. Possession of High School Diploma or GED plus an appropriate score on the Work Keys is required. 3. Valid state-issued driver’s license, reliable transportation, and evidence of car insurance. 4. Possess the ability to use effective interpersonal communication techniques, including proficient oral and written communication skills. 5. Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of an assigned task.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
Excellent technical communication skills, both oral and written; ability to communicate technical directions in laymen’s terms.
General knowledge of the following:
1. IT ticketing and asset system 2. Google Chrome OS (Chromebooks) 3. Microsoft Windows and Office 4. Apple MacOS and iOS 5. Software packages and their applications 6. Remote Desktop control tools 7. Operating system patches and drivers 8. Windows imaging 9. Basic networking 10. Printers
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1 Attend on a regular and predictable basis 2 Complete assigned tasks safely and in a constant state of alertness. 3 Technical Support Duties include but are not limited to the following: a. Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows PCs, Chromebooks, MacBook/iPads, printers, document cameras, and other technical hardware in a timely manner. b. Upgrade and repair computers c. Upgrade and install software packages d. Telephone and email support for computers, software, and other technology device problems at the schools e. Adhere and educate users on our defined cybersecurity best practices 4 Departmental duties include but are not limited to the following: a. Assist in maintaining technology assets b. Assist with shipping, receiving, and inventorying of equipment and parts c. Assist with the filing and maintaining of computer records and warranties
