IT Network Tech II Salary Range:
$64,043 – $88,608 Perform day-to-day tasks associated with supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting City hardware and software and to provide excellent customer service to end users with varying technical skills and abilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Strong technical ability working within VLAN environment, ability to document tasks, diagrams and information related to network topology, experience in distributed switch, wireless and voice platforms, support and Installation of LAN/WAN equipment, ability to lift and install LAN/WAN equipment, ability to troubleshoot and communicate while providing solutions to problems, ability to plan long term projects and solutions, properly document IT support, repair, and project activities using a helpdesk ticketing system. troubleshoot problems involving computer hardware, local area network (LAN) hardware, and wide area network (WAN) hardware; monitor server and backup system to identify potential problems; troubleshoot software and printing problems, set up and configure new computer hardware; install, upgrade, and configure software on computers, assist the IT Manager with the design, management and implementation of special projects as assigned, provide training to end-users as appropriate, assist with keeping the website current and up-to-date, assist with the purchasing of various technology services and products; process purchase orders and requisitions as needed, respond to needs after hours as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s degree or equivalent training certification in a related field with a minimum 3 years’ experience working in a managed services environment or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with Microsoft Server Operating Systems and VMWare Virtual Platform preferred.
