HOW A NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Assist in the maintenance, support, and troubleshooting of our network systems, ensuring efficient and secure operations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical staff and coordinate effectively across teams. This is an entry-level in network administration, offering growth opportunities and hands-on experience with network hardware, software, and various IT tools

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Education:

High school diploma

Required Experience:

1+ years of related experience

Required Technical Skills:

Applicable DoD 8140 or DoD 8570

Certification Required Skills and Abilities:

Eagerness to learn new technologies and take on additional responsibilities over time. Basic knowledge of

TCP/IP, LAN/WAN

technologies, network protocols, and familiarity with network hardware. Assist in monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls. Support the installation, configuration, and testing of network hardware and software, ensuring connectivity for all devices and end-users. Strong analytical skills with a focus on troubleshooting and diagnosing network issues Ability to communicate technical issues clearly and professionally with non-technical staff. Respond to user inquiries and issues related to network connectivity, performing basic diagnostics, and escalating more complex issues as needed. Maintain detailed records of network configurations, incidents, and changes in network topology. Update network diagrams, inventories, and other related documentation. Work closely with senior network technicians, IT support, and other departments to ensure seamless network operations and assist with ongoing projects. Basic understanding of network security concepts. Basic understanding of VPN Technologies (IPSEC, DMVPN, S2S, L3VPN, VPLS) Basic understanding of the following routing protocols: EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP Ability to work weekends and evening hours as needed Ability to work independently with little direction and guidance

Preferred Skills:

Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field Cisco Certified

CCNA, CCNP

Experience with USCENTCOM and familiarity with its mission Knowledge and familiarity with USCENTCOM’s IT environment

  • $92,000.

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
