This role supports a 24x7network operations center. We are seeking candidates that are ableto comply with the following schedule: Friday 6AM-2PM, Saturday6AM-6PM, Sunday 6AM-6PM, and Monday 6AM-2PM.
Job Duties:
NetworkTechnician/Operator I Responds to alerts, tickets, and relatedrequests as a member of a 24×7 network operations team. Primaryactivities include first level troubleshooting, escalation toappropriate resources, and ticket documentation. Operates andmaintains network devices including routers, switches, andfirewalls through remote access or by dispatching field supportteams. (>8000 devices) Opens tickets and works with 3rd partycarriers and technicians for remote repair. Communicatessituational awareness to leadership, customers, and associatedstakeholders. Performs configuration tasks through a ticketedchange management process. Corporate and department trainingprograms are provided and must be successfully completed on anannual schedule. This position requires compliance with allapplicable laws, regulations, industry standards, and corporatepolicies. Must be willing to engage and participate in anenvironment of compliance and continuous improvement. NetworkTechnician/Operator II ( In addition to the above duties)Administers installation, testing, and upgrades of networkequipment in the datacenters and various locations across the stateof Georgia (>1200 locations). Supports escalated network issuesfrom the Security and Network Operations Center. Providescross-training to team associates on operations procedures andtasks. Regularly contributes to network procedure documentation.
Participates in lessons learned sessions, analyzes networkcommunication and hardware failures, and generates outage reportswith a focus on continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
Education :
Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering, EngineeringTechnology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or relatedfield.
Experience:
Network Technician/Operator I Experience inNetwork Operations or Engineering (equivalent experience may beconsidered in Telecommunications, Information Technology,Industrial Control Systems, or related Business Administration).Experience operating, troubleshooting, and upgrading Cisco routingand switching hardware. Experience using ticketing systems forincidents and change control in an ITIL environment. Experiencewith network monitoring applications for alerts andtroubleshooting. Strong written and verbal communication skillsNetwork Technician/Operator II 2 years’ experience in NetworkOperations or Engineering (equivalent experience may be consideredin Telecommunications, Information Technology, Industrial ControlSystems, or related Business Administration). Professional skillsoperating, troubleshooting, and upgrading Cisco routing andswitching hardware. Desired protocol knowledge includes BGP, VPN,and VRF. Hands-on knowledge of Juniper, Arista, Palo Alto, andsimilar vendors is a plus. Experience using ticketing systems forincidents and change control in an ITIL environment. Extensive useof network monitoring applications for alerting andtroubleshooting. Experience with network management tools andutilities related to mass configuration changes, backups. Scriptingskills are a plus. Experience with network protocol analyzers andother diagnostic utilities. Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills.
Equivalent Experience:
NetworkTechnician/Operator I Associates Degree in Engineering, EngineeringTechnology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or relatedfield with at least 2 years of experience as stated above. HighSchool Diploma or equivalent with at least 4 years of experience asstated above. Network Technician/Operator II Associates Degree inEngineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, BusinessAdministration, or related field with at least 4 years ofexperience as stated above. High School Diploma or equivalent withat least 6 years of experience as stated above. Licenses,Certifications, and/or
Registrations :
Technical certificationssuch as CCNA, CCDP, or similar is preferred.
Specialized Skills:
Expertise in routing, switching, or network security using variousequipment vendors. Experience with Network Management andMonitoring tools. Experience using Incident and Change ticketingapplications. Computer literate – proficient in the use of remoteaccess software, MS Outlook, Word, Visio, Excel.
Unusual Hours:
