Overview
Assist with configuring, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) systems including multi-layer switching, routing, and wireless in an enterprise environment. Position includes configuration and support of OSPF and BGP routing implementations, Quality of Service, Access Control Lists, wireless LAN controller implementation, and wireless survey tools. Assist with configuring and maintaining IP Address Management Platform.
Maintains the technical performance of network systems supporting the enterprise, which includes hospitals, medical office buildings, physician practices, administrative and financial offices, and all support facilities.
Monitors system performance and takes appropriate action to insure the best performance and utilization of network resources. Participates in localized problem determination and resolution. Seeks guidance from senior staff or escalates appropriately.
Supports the networking systems, working with multiple IS departments and vendors to provide stable and reliable network connectivity. Demonstrates basic knowledge of the network infrastructure for which they provide administration.
Implement routine risk network changes and designed network solutions (switches, routers, and system hardware) with guidance from senior engineers while following established designs and configurations previously developed.
Works in both a team setting and independently, accepting instruction and leadership from fellow team members.
Works well under pressure, able to multi-task.
Follows defined protocols for working with customers. Resolves help desk tickets and network problems. Tracks and trends issues and drives resolution. Understands and follows change management processes.
Physically and logically installponents (routers, switches, physical cabling, UPS, etc) into a single unified network under the direction of more experienced network engineers.
Assists in lessplex projects to define network infrastructure requirements and rmendations for appropriate solutions. Participates in determining hardware, software, and administrative standard and procedures.
High School Diploma or GED required.
This position will require proficiency in verbal and writtenmunications.
Ability to effectively handle customer contacts and problem resolution.
Time Management – Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently, manage priorities, andplete assignments in a timely manner and meet productivity standards.
Strong ability to work independently, exercise judgment and creativity in analyzing and solving unusual problems or situations that arise.
Knowledge of network protocols, routing protocols, wireless protocols and broadband.
Knowledge/skills in client/server, general networking, IPAM/DNS/DHCP, Internet, and hardware – routers, switches, etc.
Must be available for callback support on a regular basis. This position requires evenings and weekend hours at times for conversions, due to schedules.
Must have own dependable transportation.
Employee does not have direct patient contact.
Must be able to sit up to 80% of each workday.
Must be able to perform fine hand manipulation when usingputer keyboard and be able to type 50%+ of the workday.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion.
Must be able to twist, bend, and kneel.
Must have ability to perform work-related travel.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field preferred.
Cisco Certifications preferred.
