Full Job Description Job Title:

Bilingual (English/Spanish) IT Technician (Entry Level).

Location:

Holyoke, MA – Occasional traveling is required.

Work schedule:

M-F 8:30am-4:30 pm. Some evening and weekend work may be required as needed. A valid driver’s license and available transportation are required.

Information Technology Director.

Salary Range :

$40,000 – $45,000, depending on skills and experience.

SUMMARY :

Working closely with the Director of Information Technology, the Bilingual IT Technician is the first point of contact for the Access to Recovery (ATR) class participants and staff, as well as for MassHire Holyoke customers in general. The Bilingual IT Specialist supports the training, data, and other technical needs of MassHire Holyoke programs, grants, and staff, as needed, and assists with research, contacting vendors, reviewing quotes, and preparing summary reports recommending the best devices or services needed to support ATR and other programs.

Primary Duties:
  • Provides day-to-day operational support onsite and remotely for: o Chromebooks, mobile hot spots, laptops, desktops, and androids. o Hardware peripherals such as printers, monitors, headphones, webcams. o Google Suite, Microsoft Office 365 including Teams, OneDrive and others. o Installs new hardware and up to date software in chromebooks, computers and laptops. o Zoom and similar platforms.
  • Supports the ATR team in Spanish and English with the following activities: o Provides help desk service during the ATR work readiness classes, on-site and remotely.

Addresses ATR student technical issues and concerns in a professional and compassionate manner. o ATR inventory control, which includes Chromebooks, mobile hot spots, chargers, mice, mouse pads, backpacks, and others. o Provides updates, status reports, and information on a timely basis. o Creates monthly reports for supervisor and make purchases as needed. Maintain a list of devices provided to each student per class. o Troubleshoot issues with Chromebooks and mobile hot spots for program participants. o Cleans and maintains Chromebooks and hot spots. Replace labels as needed. o Be available Thursdays and Fridays for: § Drop off and pick up devices onsite. § Technical check-in with class participants to troubleshoot connection issues. o Responsible for shipping and tracking FedEx equipment deliveries and returns.

  • Ability to provide presentations and training for small groups.
  • Performs routine maintenance of computer labs, ensuring that all is functional and organized.
  • Participates in agency IT projects as assigned, creating, and maintaining comprehensive project documentation.
  • Maintains accurate internal IT documentation such as procedures, checklists, policies, reports, and able to complete administrative tasks as required.
  • Exercises discretion in the handling of confidential information and material.
  • Sets priorities and manages time to complete IT duties in a timely manner.
  • Punctual to MassHire Holyoke’s Career Center hours: 8:30 am-4:30 pm, but ability to work flexible hours with occasional evening and weekend work if necessary.
  • Other general duties as required.
Required Abilities:
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • One year of hands-on experience working in an end-user desktop support role.
  • Proficient in Chromebook, laptop, computer and peripheral device troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Proficient knowledge in Windows 11, Chrome and MAC OS.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, and Google Workspace. Antivirus and eliminating viruses in desktops and Laptops.
  • Configuration of new desktop computers, laptops, printers, etc.
  • IT reporting: including detailed technical and project status reports.
  • Learn new technologies and apply them effectively.
  • Follow written and oral procedures.
  • Willing to ask questions and seek support when needed.
  • Handle multiple workloads in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated ability to set priorities and manage workload to maximize productivity and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Recognize when and how to prioritize service delivery issues when needed.
