Physical:
Work is considered light physical work requiring the exertion of up to 25 pounds
Work Environment:
Employees in this position are required to work in indoor and outdoor environments and come in direct contact with GCS staff, students and the public.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for installing requested technology related equipment in school and office locations, troubleshooting equipment problems, and repairing or arranging for the repair of faulty equipment. Work involves technical support and expertise concerning various types of technology related hardware and software. Work also involves training for employees in the use of technology. This position must be able to use an online support ticket system to communicate, track and document their tasks. They must be professional and work closely with co-workers, school administrators and supervisors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/TRAINING
Minimum of 2-year college degree or graduation from a technical school preferred.
Minimum two years of experience operating a Apple OSX/iOS and/or PC computer hardware and software, including operating systems and common applications.
Minimum one year experience and/or equivalent training operating computers and software in a networked environment.
Understands FERPA, COPPA, and CIPA Compliance.
Must possess a personal vehicle for use during work hours.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Install district approved hardware, software, peripheral and other related technology tools.
Troubleshoots and repairs approved technology in the schools and district facilities.
Maintains accurate reporting of work performed using the district approved ticket tracking system.
Train users on the use of technology.
Install and set up educational and administrative software for users.
Distribute and coordinate the rollout of student and staff devices within the schools.
Coordinate the collection and upgrades to student and staff devices at the end of each school year.
All other duties as assigned by the Director of Instructional Technology or the Technology Project Manager

Working knowledge of computer hardware and common software applications

Ability to interpret and convey technical information to a non technical audience
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate supervisor.
Possess an operating knowledge of network test and diagnostic equipment.
Ability to systematically determine the source of technology related problems and take appropriate actions
Ability to maintain complete and accurate records
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments. Communicate effectively with all levels of technology users.
