Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit Client Services is one of four departments under Information Technology Services that provides direct support for faculty, staff, and student computing. This position is part of the Technical Services Group that provides networking, hardware and software support to UNCG students, faculty and staff. The Technical Services staff is responsible for providing support on a wide range of issues relating to networking technologies, computer hardware, classroom and conference room installation and support, Technology Support Center, and application software installation and configuration. Technical Services consultants also lead and/or participate in projects to investigate and implement new technologies at UNCG and to improve or upgrade existing services. Position Summary Provide analytical and technical assistance to the faculty and staff of UNCG in the use of information technology. Responsibilities and duties include the following: Independently troubleshoots and maintains AV equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, projectors, PCs, switching equipment, and intercom systems

Install AV equipment primarily used in classroom and conference rooms located throughout campus. This includes, but is not limited to: projectors, PCs, switching equipment, and intercom systems - 30%
This position has the responsibility of troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing computer hardware and peripheral devices located in classrooms and conference rooms on campus - 15%
Other duties as assigned - 5% •All progress must be tracked and updated according to ITS standards.
Maintain ITS computer labs, provide technical support in the Technology Support Center, other duties. Minimum Qualifications An Associate’s degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Technology Integration, Networking Technology, or related area and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the position’s role: or a Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year experience in the information technology field related to the position’s role: or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, math or engineering or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Journey level requires an additional one (1) year of experience

Key Responsibility Computer hardware repair and maintenance Essential Tasks This position has the responsibility of troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing computer hardware and peripheral devices located in classrooms and conference rooms on campus. This position is required to work with a wide range of computer equipment purchased from a variety of vendors.
This equipment is increasingly complex to troubleshoot because of the extensive variety of component manufacturers, system configuration firmware, and types and manufacturers of both internal and external peripheral devices.
Key Responsibility Other duties as assigned Essential Tasks To stay informed of ITS standards and operating procedures.
Employee is required to attend mandatory meetings of the ITS Technical Services Group and ITS department.
