- 7:30am Tues-Sat &Sun-Thurs As an Operations Technician II, you will:
Responsible for monitoringand maintaining the Broadband network. This role evaluates,opens/closes trouble tickets and works the repair of networkequipment/facilities with field operations, tech support and otherwork groups. Knows equipment specific maintenance procedures andcan assist field ops in card swaps and equipment restoration.
Knowledge of Broadband / DSLAM network topology. Some basicknowledge of Ethernet router / switch equipment is a plus. Able tofollow Methods of Procedure (MOPs), anticipate problems, and takecorrective action proactively. Basic understanding of telecom,network topology and repair procedures. Works with minimalsupervision in NOC environment, sometimes for extended hours and isavailable to work all hours in a 24×7 environment. Maintain excellent acknowledgement and response time to alarms andcustomer calls. Provide quality documentation of network failures and maintenanceactivity. Establish factual data to allow management and vendors tounderstand the problem and prevent recurrence. Analyze, diagnose, sectionalize, isolate, and resolve troublesituations. Manage and correlate multiple trouble reports. Communicate with internal customers and others in a repairsituation. Provide Tier I support in platforms supported Interact with all Tier repair teams. Initiate internal/externalescalations, as necessary. Provide follow up and closure of assigned trouble tickets Works in 24×7 environment and may need to work evenings, nightsand/or weekends and holidays Knowledge and experience in network architecture of Broadband /DLSAM network systems and configurations Basic understanding of Ethernet router / switch and ATM networkequipment is a plus Knowledge of Element Management Systems (EMS), Operational SupportSystems (OSS), network inventory, alarming, provisioning and othersupport systems Proficiency in interpersonal communications, particularly with upand downstream personnel at all company levels Effective oral, written and presentation skills, includingproficiency in the Microsoft Office program suite Industry certifications (Business Management or TechnicalCertification) Awards for operational or customer service excellence Experience working as a technical support analyst/specialist Experience working in a Network Operations Center The ideal candidate will have: Knowledge and experience in networkarchitecture of Broadband / DLSAM network systems andconfigurations Basic understanding of Ethernet router / switch and ATM networkequipment is a plus Qualified candidates should
