Job Description
TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT TECHNICIAN
Reports to: Director of Technology
Responsibilities:
Provides software/hardware support for all district staff and students; assists technology staff with the maintenance and troubleshooting of district technology at all school district buildings.
Essential Functions:
- Installs new PC hardware and software and tests each installation
- Supports all staff by responding to technical support requests. These may include problems relating to computer hardware, software, internet, district network, printers, projectors, Chromebooks, interactive boards, or other district technology equipment
- Updates district helpdesk software to ensure support tickets are tracked and updated in a timely manner
- Analyzes potential system problems and takes corrective action as needed. Maintain records of all problems and corrective actions taken for review by the Director of Technology
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the operating system and application software utilized by the district
- Provides for secure computer systems operations
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Technology Director
- Performs all duties promptly, accurately, and effectively as assigned or directed
Ability to: - Provide basic technical support for school staff
- Manage multiple tasks in an organized and timely fashion
- Maintain confidentiality of student records
- Maintain open lines of communication with the school staff and district technology staff
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships
Knowledge of:
- Current computer hardware and software (Windows/Office)
- Basic networking concepts and procedures
- District technology policies
- Experience with Chromebooks and Google Workspace Admin
Qualifications:
- Two-year degree, or greater, in information systems or equivalent experience
- Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between schools
