Job Description
Description We are looking for a skilled NOC Technician to join our team in Somerset, New Jersey. In this Contract-to-Permanent role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of network systems, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining equipment standards. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in network installations, server management, and connectivity troubleshooting.
Responsibilities:
- Extend network circuits from demarcation points to client equipment and participate in troubleshooting calls to confirm connectivity.
- Perform installations of network cables using patch panels and standardized labeling procedures, including copper and fiber optic cables.
- Diagnose and resolve network problems utilizing cable analyzers and other diagnostic tools.
- Manage the triaging and decommissioning of servers and network equipment while maintaining accurate records.
- Configure production servers, switch ports, and VLANs to meet organizational network settings.
- Supervise equipment installation teams responsible for device setups and cable runs.
- Implement patch panel infrastructure solutions based on organizational needs and placement requirements.
- Maintain a virtual database of devices and connections, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Respond to troubleshooting and installation requests through a ticketing system.
- Oversee the proper disposal and documentation of decommissioned equipment. Requirements
- Proven experience in network operations, including circuit extensions and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in installing and maintaining network cables, including copper and fiber optics.
- Strong ability to diagnose and resolve network issues using tools such as cable analyzers.
- Familiarity with configuring servers, switch ports, and VLANs in production environments.
- Experience in managing server decommissioning and equipment disposal processes.
- Skilled in supervising installation teams and coordinating device setups.
- Knowledge of patch panel infrastructure implementation and placement strategies.
- Ability to manage virtual databases and maintain detailed device connection records.
