IT Hardware Technician IT Asset Management Group Farmingdale, NY Job description This role requires hands-on experience with enterprise IT hardware, including servers, storage, and networking equipment, as well as proficiency in operating systems and end-user support. The ideal candidate will be comfortable executing secure data erasure, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and supporting internal IT infrastructure in a fast-paced, process-driven environment.

Our working schedule prioritizes work-life balance. We work Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm with no surprise overtime. When overtime is needed, it is not mandatory, and we would ask if you are available.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform secure data erasure on enterprise storage systems, servers, networking equipment (e.g., firewalls, routers, access points), and end-user devices in accordance with industry’s best practices. Conduct functional testing on various peripherals including monitors, audio/visual components, printers, and other devices. Support internal asset management systems, including accurate data entry and equipment tracking. Provide general IT support including printer mapping, application installation, and peripheral troubleshooting. Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows and macOS operating systems. Document incoming equipment information and specifications. Adhere to established technical and operational procedures to ensure quality and efficiency.

Education, Experience, & Training:

2-year associates or technical degree is required Minimum of 2+ years’ experience as a computer technician or related position CompTIA A+, Security +, Network + certification preferred Solid understanding of networking concepts, and PXE environments.

Skills & Abilities:

Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Strong problem-solving and research skills with a proactive mindset. Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
