Description:
Network Technician (Level 1 / 2) — Junior Network Engineer
Wireless ISP (WISP) — NYC
Full-time — On-site We are a fast-growing Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) based in NYC. We’re looking for a hands-on Level 1 / 2 Network Technician to work closely with our Lead Network Engineer to support and grow our network. This is a great opportunity for someone with basic to intermediate networking skills who is eager to learn, contribute, and take ownership of day-to-day network operations. What You’ll Be Doing Work closely with the Lead Network Engineer to:
Provision new customer setups and equipment
Keep up with network upgrades and updates
Troubleshoot network issues as they arise
Perform proactive maintenance on core and edge devices
Collaborate with field techs to support installations and service calls
Configure and support routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), VLANs, and related network services
Monitor network health and performance using tools like Zabbix, LibreNMS, Graylog, etc..
Help document network changes and configurations Skills & Experience We’re Looking For Basic to intermediate experience with:
OSPF, BGP, VLAN
configuration & troubleshooting
MikroTik RouterOS (preferred), or Cisco / Juniper experience with willingness to learn MikroTik
IP addressing and subnetting
Familiarity with wireless (PtP, PtMP) technologies is a plus
Comfortable working in fast-paced, real-world ISP environment
Strong desire to learn and grow technical skills Requirements Some hands-on networking experience (professional, lab, or home lab)
Comfortable working on-site and occasionally assisting with physical installs or maintenance
Valid NYC driver’s license
Must be based in NYC (this is not a remote position) Nice to Have Experience working in a
WISP / ISP
environment
Experience supporting field technicians
