Responsibilities/Duties:
The Systems Technician is a highly technical role and supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of the healthcare center’s core infrastructure equipment and systems. The role involves supporting stability, integrity, and security of in-house voice, data, video, wired and wireless network infrastructure. This role may require availability after hours as needed for network/system maintenance, emergencies, or to respond to cybersecurity incidents. Assist with developing and implementing strategies to protect the healthcare center’s network and information systems against security breaches and attacks. Support compliance with healthcare-related cybersecurity standards and regulations, such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and HITECH. Supports Microsoft products, particularly Active Directory, Group Policies, Exchange Online, Intune, and Microsoft 365 applications and configurations. In conjunction with IT leadership performs server and security audits, system backups, and recovery; Assist in developing cybersecurity policies and standards. Respond to system outages, utilize software and diagnostic hardware tools to troubleshoot complex network, systems, security, and telephony problems. Supports and maintain reliable backup and recovery systems. Support multi-function devices in addition to standalone printing and dictation equipment. Manage audio/visual equipment and connectivity. Maintain an accurate inventory of all computing and audio-video equipment, including upgrade schedules. Create and maintain documentation on all relevant systems, such as network diagrams, operation manuals, configuration records, playbooks, and technical procedures. Ensure clear communication with all parties. Perform any other duties as assigned. This role requires the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment, strong customer service skills, and a willingness to adopt innovative technologies that enhance institutional efficiency. The role should be carried out according to the highest ethical and moral standards, in adherence to the facility’s corporate compliance plan and all applicable laws. The incumbent must adhere to the facility’s confidentiality statement in accessing and safeguarding protected health information (PHI/ePHI) of residents and employees, as necessary to perform job duties.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related field, along with professional certifications and a minimum of 2 years’ hands-on configuration experience. Prior experience in a healthcare environment is highly beneficial.
