How you’ll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) The Delta Air Lines Digital team is seeking a Technical Product Owner in building and bridging best-in-class digital experiences for Delta’s customer-facing channels, including Delta.com, the Fly Delta apps, Delta Sync WiFi & Seatback channels, and future platforms and technologies (Voice, VR, AI, etc.). Partnering with other product managers and collaborating with cross-departmental teams from Delta’s Commercial, Customer Experience, IT, and other teams, the Technical Product Owner will assist in defining the product strategy, roadmap, and features for Cross Platform Experiences that traverse digital experiences across the travel ribbon, while increasing revenue, NPS, customer loyalty, engagement, and lifetime value. This individual will focus on enabling Delta systems for synchronized cross-platform personalized experiences and handoffs from one customer platform to the next via secure deep linking and universal linking.
Responsibilities:
Support the delivery of a portfolio of personalized and custom deeplinks and universal links that have an improved impact to the customer experience. Support the Senior Technical Product Manager in the creation of technical solutions for complex business problems, contributing to the definition and evolution of the business strategy, goals, and objectives. Partner strategically with IT, product management, and analytics teams to support synchronized cross-platform experiences. Assist in managing administrative and development aspects of integrations between marketing systems and business systems, including roadmap development. Analyze numbers, trends, and data to drive new strategies and streamline & automate processes. Work closely with development teams to communicate requirements from execution and implementation, including technical architectures and best practice programming principles. Provide programming/code snippets that can be used in technical delivery of new capabilities. Identify technical requirements and translate them into sufficient technical stories (i.e., API creation, integrations, code refactoring, etc.). Lead deep-dive technical workshops with the business to socialize new priorities and features that may impact the business. Ensure that user stories, themes, and epics are written, refined, and clearly define a universal definition of done. Facilitate and oversee the immediate needs of the development team as they arise by being fully available to the team. Facilitate estimation sessions, backlog refinement efforts, and sprint reviews. Coordinate user acceptance testing and all necessary external validation efforts. Monitor current and future trends in the e-commerce, web, mobile, and digital marketing space that will influence internal software direction in the future. What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications) 3+ years of experience in a technical role, including at least 1 year as a product owner or similar role. Proven track record of successfully delivering complex solutions on time, with a high level of quality. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical colleagues. An innovative problem solver, collaborative business partner, who is well-organized and detailed with strong presentation and reporting skills. Collaborate with technical teams, business teams, and product managers to ensure that the code that is developed meets/exceeds customer expectations (CSAT). Familiarity with SaaS and/or cloud-based solutions and good knowledge of API integrations and similar technologies. Understanding of mobile app UX and UI design paradigms. Ability to manage and prioritize many projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment. Experience working cross-functionally with other developers and other technically focused professionals. Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data. Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles. Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. BA/BS/MS
with preference to Computer Science, Software Engineering, Technical Marketing, or related degrees. Understanding of DevOps principles, practices, and tools in an enterprise technology environment. Passion for developing new and trending digital experiences that drive positive customer sentiment while keeping in mind latest programming principles as it relates to performance. Experience with developing technical roadmaps, writing user stories, grooming product backlogs, and coordinating/prioritizing conflicting requirements in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Exposure to working on products that can handle potentially sensitive customer information securely and privacy best practices. Able to handle ambiguity and oversee cross-team projects, working with product and engineering managers across teams and departments to deliver customer scenarios.
