JOB SUMMARY

We’re looking for a highly experienced Senior Technical Product Owner/Manager to drive the technical vision and delivery of critical data governance platforms within our modern data ecosystem. You’ll play a key role in rebuilding our data ecosystem with a modern Iceberg data lakehouse at its core. You’ll be responsible for shaping how Highmark navigates our enterprise data catalog, governs data through advanced attribute-based access control (ABAC), observes data quality through data contracts, and automates the integration of this ecosystem. Initially, you’ll focus on product management and ownership within our enterprise data catalog team. Success requires understanding platform interdependencies, balancing speed and quality, building strong partnerships with engineering and business stakeholders, and clearly translating engineering efforts into business value. Daily, you’ll oversee the prioritization, scope, and validation of work. This demands a strong understanding of data catalog platforms, emerging Iceberg best practices, and the ability to communicate confidently with both technical and non-technical audiences about strategic trade-offs and business value. You’ll build trust through transparency, stakeholder alignment, and support for the engineering teams and customers utilizing your platforms.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Empower teams to manage their work by setting clear priorities and scope from the team backlog.

Make trade-offs and negotiate with stakeholders (e.g. Product Management, Program Management, business leaders, etc.) based on team capacity to determine the backlog.

Develop and maintain product delivery roadmap + Collaborate with stakeholders such as external clients, product management, portfolio leaders, and others in the creation and communication of the product vision, strategy, and roadmap. Represent the product in mid-level governance meetings. Track and provide status to leadership. + Effectively navigate both Product Management and Product Ownership roles, collaborating with external customers and the internal product team. + Utilize market trends and customer feedback provided by stakeholders to identify opportunities for product enhancements.
