Job Description
How you’ll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) As a Senior Scrum Master at Delta Air Lines, you will work closely with delivery teams, release management, business partners, and other parts of the organization including senior-level leadership to ensure effective software delivery based upon defined agile values and principles. The Scrum Master is the Domain Expert for agile methodologies and practices and guides team on Delta Agile practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and improve the scrum process and project progress; helping tackle impediments in the development process. Combine technical skills and expertise in software engineering and agile engineering practices to understand and improve the capabilities of Delta’s technology. Apply in-depth expertise with project plan methodology and software engineering to lead and coordinate projects with minimal supervision. Apply software engineering, agile methodologies and technologies (JIRA, Confluence, Version One, Rally), and knowledge of cloud migration and cloud products. Will use statistical analysis, data analysis, and strong problem-solving skills along with in-depth business management and IT knowledge and skills. Mentoring the scrum team to apply appropriate processes to build successful products. Encouraging self-organization and a cohesive scrum team; sheltering the team from outside distractions to keep focus mainly on the agreed sprint goals. Ensuring scrum principles and approaches are understood accurately by the development team and customers, enhancing the performance of the team. Responsible for the growth and development of new and existing Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Program Managers, delivery teams and agile release trains while they transition to agile and as they apply best practices through continuous improvement. Mentor and guide multiple teams on a day-to-day basis including program and portfolio levels roles such as Epic Owners Will perform related professional duties as required. Role offers a hybrid work schedule, with 50% time in office and up to 50% telecommuting from home office. Requires clear and concise interpersonal skills, the ability to work across the organization, excellent synthesizing and organization skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to participate in a team environment. Requires the ability to consistently prioritize safety and security of self, others, and personal data. Experience may be gained concurrently.
