Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma and Associate’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology preferred. Ability to meet suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457. Experience with Microsoft Windows 11 and MacOSx desktop operating systems. Experience with Google Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, and SQL. Experience with PowerSchool SIS, and ClassLink preferred. Experience with computer data systems, protocols, and procedures. Proficiency in oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of administration and maintenance of information systems. Knowledge of Internet and networked data communications technologies. Knowledge of data backup and recovery. Knowledge of information systems security. Ability to recognize, evaluate, and solve application related problems. Ability to generate and file reports using computer applications. Ability to develop training material and perform end user training. Ability to work effectively with software application vendors in resolving application issues and in optimizing application capabilities. Effective interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on communication and collaboration with a wide variety of people and groups. Physical strength, mobility, dexterity, stamina, and acuity to perform job responsibilities. Ability to be punctual and in regular attendance. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may require.

Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, goals, and priorities. Inputs and retrieves data in the prescribed format, utilizing knowledge of various computer software applications. Creates, maintains, and purges specified data files and logs as required; makes individual and/or mass corrections, modifications, and/or updates to data in files, as appropriate. Extracts data and generates reports according to specified criteria using graphs, tables, records, and various computer software applications. Assembles and categorizes data for written computations and calculations. Maintains web-based applications, communication tools, and resources. Performs application updates as required. Creates applications training material and performs end user training. Works with software vendors in seeking program enhancements and problem resolutions. Provides assistance to end users in resolving application problems. Performs data security and backup procedures. Maintains confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters in accordance with state and federal law. Models and maintains high ethical standards. Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for improvement in areas of responsibility. Responds to inquiries and requests in a timely and positive manner. Maintains and submits required reports, records, and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner. Properly cares for equipment and material resources of the school system. Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local Board policies, and state, federal, and local laws. Reports absences and takes leave in accordance with Board policies and procedures. Performs any other job-related duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Superintendent.
