Job Description

This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned and or as necessary. As a Application Engineer you will provide quality control while balancing the constraints of a project budget with thee expectations of the client, insuring the client receives a product that exceeds their expectations, meets project specifications and performs the intended functions.

Essential Functions:

An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation. + Responsible for the design, engineering, programming, graphics, as-built drawings and/or operation manuals, material selection and purchasing, schedules, training, and supervision with a primary goal to drive printable growth and manage customer satisfaction. + Accurate preparation of direct digital control engineering submittals including detailed wiring diagrams, network diagrams and system wiring details while maintaining the high-quality company standards along with project requirements and specifications with the project budget constraints. + Assist Sales with job-costing information for proposals and change orders. + Review and understand project plans and specifications to accomplish project goals and objectives. + Develop DDC system design, prepare sequence of operations, valve and damper schedules and complete preparation of submittal package. + Support a performance-based culture, both team and individual, to assure continuous improvement and alignment with enterprise vision, mission, and objectives. + Drive employee engagement, training, and development in the key areas of safety, quality, and productivity. + Provide direct oversight for the field team including supervisors and technicians. + Develop and manage the department budget. + Ensure regulatory compliance across a range of federal, state, and local agencies. + Ensure that all quality and safety standards, specifications and policies are met, drive continuous improvements, and collaborate with the team to drive efficiencies. + Support a culture based on open/honest dialogue and involvement with all team members that demonstrates the value of their input and engagement in improving performance. + Support a culture of high performance and accountability in employee and site safety as well as other aspects of the business. Requirements

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED

+ Experience with DDC electrical control systems, such as BACnet, Modbus and LON. + Strong understating of HVAC systems, computers and associate d hardware and software. + Work from prints, wiring diagrams, sketches, handbooks, manufacturer documents etc. + Required 5 years journeyman level experience and certification in one or more of the building trades; High school diploma or GED; supplemented by vocation/technical training in general construction (carpentry), plumbing, wiring, HVAC, etc. + 3-5 relevant work experience in the field or relate area that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for the job. + Equivalent experience, vocational school, or an Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field is preferred. + Prior experience supporting construction and field employee groups, including strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and self-initiative. + Commitment to “open door” and comfort with production floor presence and contact with all field employees. + Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills; high quality document and report preparation. + Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment requiring strong multi-tasking abilities. + Key leadership competencies in addition to high ethical standards, strong values, integrity, drive to deliver results, pride in personal and team performance, decision quality, building effective teams, and action orientation are fundamental imperatives.
