MTO is focused on anti-tamper and hardware security at levels ranging from secure microelectronics packaging to system-level security of weapons systems. MTO is involved in the development and analysis of anti-tamper / protective technologies, IC failure analysis, reverse engineering, full spectrum cyber operations, and cyber tool development and solutions. Additionally, MTO conducts vulnerability research to preclude hardware exploitation, side-channel attacks, and fault-injection attacks. MTO is advancing the state-of-the-art for the Department of Defense, building out a portfolio of technologies ranging from

The Systems Architect must be proficient in a wide range of activities: contributing to MTO’s technology development roadmaps for secure electronics and microelectronics keeping a pulse on broader industry trends, injecting awareness and seeding early exploratory techniques / approaches / algorithms / capabilities into the broader Operation at appropriate times conceptualizing solutions to open-ended problems, decomposing said solution into implementable requirements, and conveying design intent to a broader team. conducting hands-on embedded

Required Qualifications:

US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science or relevant technical field

Mid-level Architect:

10+ years of relevant work experience

Senior-level Architect:

15+ years of relevant work experience Demonstrated ability to evaluate and solve open-ended problems Demonstrated experience establishing, directing, and transitioning complex technology development Ability to quickly pivot focus between the big picture and low-level details Proficiency in explaining complicated technical topics to both engineering teams and non-technical audiences Excel at communicating/coordinating with stakeholders and customers: oral, written, and formal presentations. Strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills Desired Qualifications (some or all would be viewed positively) Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in a relevant technical field Active Top Security Clearance Advanced knowledge of microelectronics and hardware security techniques / anti-tamper / protection technologies Knowledge of various Weapons Systems architectures Experience working with multiple Government agencies such as Army CCDC, DARPA, AFRL, and NSA; experience working with the DoD Anti-Tamper Community Proficiency with Verilog / VHDL / System Verilog Advanced knowledge of Roots of Security / Secure Processors Experience implementing microcode Knowledge of advanced packaging for microelectronics (3DHI, RTL, silicon interposers, etc) and the DoD microelectronics supply chain Experience leading multiple simultaneous technical projects or tasks Experience with cryptographic algorithms and applications, and knowledge of post-quantum crypto Real-time OS experience Ability and willingness to mentor junior technical personnel Expertise in Hardware Security / Vulnerability Research, including nation-state level reverse-engineering threat vectors Hands-on electronics and/or microelectronics laboratory experience Knowledge of semiconductor device physics Semiconductor Failure Analysis tools & techniques
