Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL Position Description Summary The SharePoint Solutions Specialist will be responsible for enhancing the SharePoint environment through custom development and solutions tailored to business needs. This includes supporting enterprise-level business processes, workflows, custom applications, and system architecture improvements. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in both out-of-the-box SharePoint capabilities and custom coding techniques using client-side and server-side development. Responsibilities Responsible for planning, designing, troubleshooting, and providing day-to-day support for the business collaboration application (e.g. SharePoint). Sets up, configures, and maintains the business collaboration application environment. Responsible for collecting, analyzing and creating pages, webparts, and workflows for business collaboration applications. Create and implement SharePoint solutions (modern & classic) to improve business workflows and internal collaboration. Enhance existing SharePoint architecture to support new features, increase efficiency, and ensure scalability. Build automated business workflows using Power Automate (Flow), Power Apps, and SharePoint Designer (legacy), as needed. Create and maintain lists, libraries, content types, and site columns for structured content management. Integrate SharePoint with other systems such as Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform, and third-party applications via APIs. Create custom web parts, templates, and solutions that address client-specific needs. Collaborate with data and/or business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for SharePoint issues, including permissions, workflows, and content rendering. Maintain documentation for all custom solutions, architecture decisions, and workflow designs. Implement security best practices, permissions management, and governance policies across SharePoint environments. Skills and Experience Five (5) years relevant experience in designing, developing or the administration of Microsoft SharePoint. Must have a minimum of (4) years of general IT experience Must have a minimum of (4) years of experience with deployment/development of IT systems in a federal government or defense environment. Education Minimum BS degree from accredited college. BS degree in Computer Science or related IT discipline preferred. No certifications are required. Microsoft 365 Certification preferred. Microsoft 365 Certification as a Teamwork Administrator Associate or equivalent preferred.
