Job Description GDIT is seeking qualified candidates to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. Qualified candidates will provide integrated solutions supporting concurrent test, training, and operations (CTTO) within the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC) mission execution platform and enterprise communications and information technology (IT) environment. General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a Software Developer, Senior to support the IRES program in Huntsville, Alabama.

Duties Include:

Define and maintain the enterprise application architecture, including patterns, standards, and guidelines to support scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions Lead high-level design of application systems (custom, COTS, SaaS), ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, data strategies, and infrastructure standards Design and oversee integration strategies using APIs, middleware, and ETL tools to ensure smooth data flow across platforms and systems Evaluate new platforms, tools, and services. Provide architectural oversight during procurement, development, and implementation phases Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, and IT leadership to gather requirements and co- create effective, value-driven solutions Contribute to rationalization of legacy applications, roadmap planning, and the adoption of cloud-native or modern application platforms Ensure that application designs meet security, privacy, and regulatory requirements from the outset

Basic Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree 7+ years of experience in application architecture, solution design, or senior software engineering roles. Strong understanding of architectural patterns (e.g., microservices, layered architecture, event-driven systems). Proven experience with application frameworks such as .NET, Java, Node.js, or Python. Deep knowledge of API design, system integration, and data architecture principles. Experience with SaaS/PaaS platforms (e.g., Salesforce, ServiceNow, Dynamics 365) and ERP/CRM systems. Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Exposure to enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) is a plus.
