REMOTE – Steel Application Engineer (50% Travel) Position Available In Mobile, Alabama

Job Description Insight Global is currently seeking an Application Engineer to join a steel manufacturing client that is expanding their technical delivery of steel plates and steel powder across the Americas. In this role you will be responsible for visiting client sites and driving technical discussions around recommendations for material uses and specifications regarding steel powder and steel plates. This position can sit remote in the US but will require up to 50% travel across the North, South, and Latin America to be on-site with customers. You will also be required to meet with defense customers to discuss the applications of the materials. • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering OR Materials Science related field
• Eligible to obtain a DoD Security Clearance
• Strong understanding of steel powder or metal powder and the applications for both Metal Powder and Metal Plates
• Experience on client sites explaining the technical application of metal materials and uses Experience in a client facing role providing technical explanations to engineering questions and application of material use Experience making recommendations to the customer regarding material uses
• You must have a strong understanding of how steel or other metals are used in a variety of applications
• Prior experience working on a defense contractor or for a defense contractor (highly preferred)
• Background in metal powder use in 3D printing is preferred
