Description
Baptist Health is the largest healthcare system serving central Alabama, providing comprehensive hospital-based and outpatient services to nearly 60 percent of the residents in Montgomery, Autauga and Elmore counties. To learn more about Baptist Health, . The Senior Desktop Architect is a senior-level position that shall be responsible to engineer and architect desktop computing standards for the organization. This individual will be responsible to research and maintain a stable operating system and application deployment architecture, provide a clear roadmap for future computing requirements, and ensure that OS standards meet operational needs through effective troubleshooting and certification. This position will also require collaboration with peer groups, manufacturers, and vendors to ensure a modern and reliable end-user computing environment. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree in a field of study relevant to the current position is preferred.
A minimum of 3-7 years of experience in a similar or related role required; however, candidates with an equivalent combination of experience, education, certification, and demonstrated proficiency in a similar or related role will also be considered.
Licensure/Certifications:
Two or more current, industry standard certifications preferred (CompTIA A+, CompTIA ITF+, VMware VCP, Desktop and Mobility, Microsoft Modern Desktop Administrator, Microsoft Azure Administrator, etc.).
Strong knowledge of desktop hardware and software, system performance tuning, and troubleshooting methodologies.
Familiarity with security best practices related to desktop computing and OS management.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen analytical mindset. Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Collaborative attitude and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks. Familiarity with helpdesk software and remote support tools.
Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple project activities simultaneously. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing technologies and business needs. Accepts ownership and welcomes responsibility. Requires participation in a scheduled on-call rotation.
