We are looking for you-an energetic, proactive, Software Engineer/Integrator to provide technical support in the requirements definition, design, development, integration, and testing of command, control, and communication systems as well as their associated simulators and stimulators. The focus for this individual will be to support system integration of sophisticated United States Naval software. The ideal candidate has experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Network Mapper (Nmap), Netcat, Wireshark, and Private Key Infrastructure (PKI). The range of responsibilities will include but are not limited to firewall configurations, resolve network errors, generate and maintain PKI, and support Redundant Arrays of Independent Disks (RAID) configurations. Candidates must display strong analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze and resolve integration issues.

• Highlights of Responsibilities:

• Update firewall configurations.

Use Nmap, Netcat, Wireshark, and similar tools to identify and resolve network errors.

Use custom tools to identify and resolve system configuration and software errors.

Conduct troubleshooting for servers and networks (ethernet and fiber).Participate in data backup script updates and maintenance.

Generate and maintain a PKI using self-signed certificates.

Support data management.

Contribute to weekly and monthly status reports.

• Required Education, Experience, and Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems or related field3 or more years of recent and relevant experience.

Eligible to obtain and maintain a Security clearance.

Experience with RHEL/Linux, Nmap, Netcat, Wireshark, Cisco Firewall Products, RAID, and Clonezilla.

Current CompTIA Security+ or Microsoft security certificate or able to complete certification within 30 days of hire.

• Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with trouble shooting, maintaining, and documenting software server or network issues.

Capable of writing and executing procedures.

Experience with Department of Defense software integration methodologies and associated test tools.

Hands-on experience in a software lab environment.

Experience with U.S. Navy and government computer-based systems.

Able to assess and solve problems independently or as part of a team.

Possess strong listening skills to interface with end users.

Adapts easily to change and possesses great interpersonal skills.

• Travel:

• No travel anticipated at this time.

• Tools and Technology:

• RHEL/Linux, Nmap, Netcat, Wireshark, Cisco Firewall Products, RAID, Clonezilla, and government-owned custom tools.

Various web-based tools will be used.

• Working Conditions/Environment:

• Work will be conducted at an IPS office as well as at NSWC PCD.

Some tasks may include reaching, lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, squatting, kneeling, and walking.
