Job Description

  • Command and Control Test Software Developer
  • This role will support the Boeing CST-100 Starliner program at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

This position is expected to last 4 months.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education

  • Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, or Doctorate of Science from an accredited course of studyin Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry
  • BS and 5 or more years of experience, MS and 3 or more years of related experience, or Ph.D
  • 3 or more years of experience in Java or JavaScript programming. 1 or more years of experience with engineering databases to work with multiple platforms (use across custom and commercial software). 1 or more years of experience developing test scripts or performing software development tasks in XML or equivalent
  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time
  • Valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver’s license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire.   • 1 or more years of software experience working in various test environments including the use of virtual machines (VM), target hardware, and test stations
  • 1 or more years of experience with networking communications standards, IP Networking, and protocols (e.g. Transport Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Secure Transport Protocol (SCP), Extensible Mark-up Language (XML)).Key Duties
  • Develop and implement command and control test software for the Starliner spacecraft
  • Design and support network-centric data systems for test architectures and measurement techniques
  • Select and apply appropriate instrumentation data recording devices for various test applications
  • Utilize programming languages such as C#, Java (J2EE/J2ME), C++, Visual Basic, C, Assembly, Ladder Logic, NC Programming, and Matlab
  • Apply knowledge of communications protocols including TCP/IP, FTP, XML, and WAP
  • Support computing systems running Windows, UNIX, and Linux operating systems
  • Use software development and testing tools including editors, compilers, simulations, and configuration/requirements management tools
  • Design databases and reporting structures using database engines
  • Integrate hardware and software components into cohesive, functional test systems
  • Execute software usability and functional testing
