The Senior Software Engineer willbe part of a dynamic team providing IT support, maintenance,operations, logistics, and engineering services to ensure thesecure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of INL/AManagement Information Systems. This role will support theDepartment of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and LawEnforcement Affairs Office of Aviation (INL/A) in their missions tosustain national security and economicinterests.
Responsibilities Develop and support software, including applications, databaseintegration, interfaces, and new functionality enhancements. Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure project missionobjectives and compliance standards. Resolve complex software-related issues associated withmission-critical government systems quickly and effectively. Support testing and deployment of new applications andfeatures. Work with project managers to gather web applicationrequirements, timelines, and milestones. Write code following industry best practices in accordance withFISMA guidelines. Schedule maintenance windows for deploying new versions,features, or bug fixes. Participate in the full agile development lifecycle for newapplications, including design, construction, and testing. Travel may be required for special projects (CONUS,OCONUS). Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience in software development/engineering, includingrequirements analysis, development, installation, integration,evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problemdiagnosis/resolution. Proven ability to plan, accomplish goals, handle complex tasks,and consult on complex projects as a top contributor orspecialist. Experience providing operations and maintenance support tomission-critical systems. Ability to work closely with customers and users totroubleshoot and resolve complex issues. Strong technical writing skills, with experience in documentingsoftware projects and designing user-facing applications. Experience with Windows and Linux environments and basic systemadministration. Proficiency with .NET Framework, .NET Core, Docker, SQL, IIS,SharePoint, OpenID Connect, SAML, and web security. Excellent communication skills to interface effectively withcustomers, understand requirements, and translate needs intoactions. Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines. Experience with SQL Server and shell scripting. Knowledge of cloud-native principles, architectures, and toolssuch as AWS ECS, EKS, Azure Kubernetes Service, GKE, etc. Experience refactoring monolithic applications intomicroservices architectures. Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform,CloudFormation, or Bicep.
