EDW/SQL Architect Position Available In Broward, Florida

Job Description:

Our Client is requiring a seasoned professional with over 12years of experience in MSSQL database management. The idealcandidate will possess a strong background in MSSQL databasearchitecture, migration to AWS EC2, and familiarity with CLR andSSIS. This role is critical for ensuring the integrity,availability, and performance of the database systems, as well asimplementing best practices for database management and disasterrecovery. The candidate will be responsible for installing,configuring, upgrading, and patching MS SQL Server databases, whilealso addressing security violations and performing regularmaintenance tasks such as backups and integrity checks. In additionto the core responsibilities, the SQL Architect will design andimplement disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime foron-premises installations. The role also involves managing andautomating backup processes using both native and third-partytools. Monitoring database performance is essential, and thecandidate will need to proactively tune databases, optimize SQLqueries, and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure highavailability and fast response times. The position requires a goodunderstanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS), including EC2, RDS,VPC, S3, and various backup services. The SQL Architect will alsobe tasked with configuring and monitoring replication strategies toensure data availability across different environments,troubleshooting high availability and replication issues, andimplementing high-availability solutions such as SQL Serverclustering and Always-On Availability Groups.

Responsibilities:

Install, configure, upgrade, and patch MS SQL Server databases.

Resolve security violations on MSSQL servers/DB. Perform regulardatabase maintenance tasks, including backups, indexing, andintegrity checks. Design, implement, and regularly test disasterrecovery plans to ensure minimal downtime on on-premisesinstallations. Manage and automate backup processes, ensuring dataavailability and integrity, using native and 3rd party backup toolslike Rubrik, AWS Backup service, and S3. Work closely with DWmanager to ensure prioritization of corporate and departmentalobjectives and Provide assistance to DW team members with issuesneeding technical expertise or complex systems and/or programmingknowledge. Provide on-the-job training for new or less experiencedteam members. Monitor database performance and proactively tunedatabases, optimizing SQL queries, indexes, and configurations.

Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring highavailability and fast response times. Design, implement, and managehigh-availability solutions, including SQL Server clustering,Always-On Availability Groups, and database mirroring. Configureand monitor replication strategies such as transactionalreplication, merge replication, and log shipping to ensure dataavailability across environments. Troubleshoot and resolve highavailability and replication issues, minimizing downtime and dataloss.

Required experience:

12 years of experience with MSSQLdatabase management Excellent work experience in MSSQL databasearchitecture and migration to

years of design,development, and support experience within Microsoft SQL Server2005 or later 8 years of experience with

BI Technology:

SQL, SSRS,SSAS, SSIS, Power BI 5 years of ETL or ELT development experiencein the use of the Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)platform and/or Data Transformation Services (DTS) Worked hands-onmigrating stored procedures in

MySql T-SQL Coding:

Write, optimize,and troubleshoot T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions,triggers, and views to perform tasks such as data retrieval, datamodification, and data manipulation. Demonstrated SQL querycreation, performance tuning, and troubleshooting experiences Priorexperience in moderate – large SQL Server environments required -database size exceeding 1TB, with table sizes in the 100’s ofmillions of records or greater Bachelor of Science degree inComputer Science or Information Systems Healthcare industryexperience is a BIG plus
