You will work closely with peers in software engineering, software quality assurance and project and product management to develop software that meets customer and system requirements. You will follow the defined design practices including Agile methodology and use the sound software engineering principles to ensure that the application software products are safe, robust and user friendly.
What You Will Do:
Follow Agile and Software Development principles to design and implement application software that controls, navigates, and acts as user interfaces for the robotic surgical systems. Participate in code reviews, technical documentation, and risk assessments. Automate and conduct testing including unit and integration testing in compliance with medical device regulations (e.g., IEC 62304). Collaborate with cross-functional teams including clinical specialists, system designer, mechanical engineers and electrical engineers. Be responsible for due dates/metrics/time & resource estimation to support projects. Improve procedures and processes. Have ownership of small-scale projects/initiatives. Execute with minimal supervision (day to day tasks)
What You Need:
BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field. 2+ years of experience working with Sofware. Proficiency with C++. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design. Experience in using software development tools, such as version control, IDEs, compilers, interpreters, debuggers, continuous integration, etc. Exposure to Linux Operating System. Interest/Exposure to surgical workflows or clinical environments. Hands-on experience with Software Development Life Cycle processes. Experience with image-guided surgery, haptics, or force feedback systems. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and Jira. Interest/Exposure to robotics algorithms (kinematics, dynamics, control systems).

These roles could have travel expectations, and you must work within the country of the job requisition location. Field-based – You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Almost all sales roles would likely be qualified as field-based. Onsite – Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements. Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category. Hybrid – You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
