• Chewy is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team in Plantation, FL or Boston, MA.

This is an excellent opportunity to join our full stack engineering team that supports behind-the-scenes operations, while gaining significant exposure to Chewy’s entire business! Our cloud-based integration empowers you to integrate our software with our core e-commerce platform. Our collaborative code environment will allow you the opportunity to learn from and work closely with our passionate engineers.

• What You’ll Do:

• + Act in the capacity of a software engineer to actively participate in the definition, design, development, testing and implementation of software functionality using the Agile methodology + Through cross-functional collaboration you’ll design and build interfaces that integrate every aspect of our business.

+ Create or modify complex programs, modules, routines, scripts and data objects from a detailed design where efficiency, performance and reliability are critical. + You’ll write simple and sustainable code that reflects a deep understanding of our business and contributes meaningfully to the success of your team and delivery to our customers. + Ensure that technical solutions follow best practices, are reliable, are easily maintainable and are scalable under sustained load + Participate in design and code reviews + Collaborate to identify, isolate and resolve malfunctions related to software + Conduct knowledge transition on solutions to the designated application support team(s) + Create and evolve application documentation as required + Operate in compliance with IT standards, policies, procedures, and best practices

• What You’ll Need:

• + BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Information Technology + Minimum 4+ years of full software development lifecycle experience including the ability to perform independent analysis + 4+ years of experience developing applications in web technologies (Java 8, Spring Boot, AWS Technologies/Cloud Migration experience) + Experience building applications using AWS services + proven experience working web server technologies + Working Experience with distributed SCM (GitHub a plus), DevOps, AWS + Working knowledge of UI/UX development with Vue or React framework + Must be team oriented and have a customer service approach + Strong Computer Science fundamentals including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis + Demonstrated ability to work with database and has basic SQL skills + Able to work in a fast-paced environment + Position may require travel •

Bonus:
